Now that we’re nearing the end of production, plans for the soundtrack are beginning to take shape.
Former Eugenian, Eileen Hemphill-Haley, has agreed to let us use her song, “Our House Burned Down.” The song will be arranged as a blues tune by our own Lynda Duffy.
Check out Eileen’s song below.
In addition to arranging Eileen’s song, Lynda has also written an original piece called “Lettin’ All the Bad Things Go,” which she and her hand-picked blues band, Duffy’s Choice, played at our recent shoot at Macs at the Vets Club. And I got to live out one of my fantasies… to be a back-up singer in a blues band! While I didn’t do a whole lot of singing (it’s all for the best), I had a blast being on stage with Lynda and the band, moving to the music and shaking my red tambourine! (Thanks to them all for putting up with me!)
I’m also currently talking with Lance Miller, my phenomenal sound recorder/tech guy, about composing the soundtrack and what direction to go with that… stay tuned!
